After hearing the news that Star Conflict would shut down their official servers on October 10th, 2026 (source), a number of active and ex-players scrambled to veto this decision to find a way to continue this great game by making appeals or combining forces to keep it running on their system with specific tools or to save what's left. Then the Community Edition was generously released on October 9th, 2026 through Steam, therewith transferring hosting and strong customization responsibilities to the community and the remaining player base.

The Outpost is a dedicated fan-made (inofficial) platform to fusionize all game-related information, memories and moments into one central hub to the best of its abilities and through voluntary input. By providing a Server Setup Guide or keeping track of current Servers, the website provides a simple and easy-to-use source that adjusts to the current community development landscape.
